Small Town Summer Wedding in Lovell Wyoming
Imagine booking a couple’s photoshoot with your special someone. Sounds romantic, right? Now imagine you're at the photoshoot, blissfully posing together and having fun, then suddenly your partner pops the question. That's what happened to Chelsey when her partner Klete planned a secret photoshoot proposal. Fortunately for Klete, Chelsey said yes! 😊 Chelsey and Klete planned a simple yet stylish, mid-summer wedding that reflected down-home warmth and the old west charms of Wyoming. When I first met Chelsey and Klete, they told me that professional wedding photography was high on their list of wedding investments. It was an honor that they chose me as their wedding photographer, and I sincerely thank them for allowing me to share the magic of their special day.
a review from the heart
“We are so thankful we found Kayleigh to photograph our wedding last summer. She was absolutely amazing and extremely accommodating. She road on the back of our golf cart to get to where we wanted to take pictures, taking pictures of us while riding! She knew exactly how to get a stain out of my wedding dress that I got on the way from the ceremony to the reception sight. Finally, the photos she captured of our wedding were beautiful and everything we could have asked for. Top notch in every aspect, we highly recommend Kayleigh!”

Fast forward to their wedding day. Pre-wedding festivities were in effect. Chelsey's mom and bridesmaids were at her side, keeping her calm and cool in the bridal suite. The vibe was zen-like and serene as everyone helped Chelsey get ready. After the final touches were applied, the girls shared a celebratory shot with miniature bottles of each of their favorite liquors.
Suddenly, a knock at the door and Chelsey's dad appeared. His effervescent charisma filled the room. Chelsey and her dad shared a priceless moment before the ceremony began. Dressed in hues of mauve and pink, the lovely bridesmaids watched from the side and had tears in their eyes from the sweet moment between Chelsey and her Dad.
Before Klete joined his groomsmen, little Troy made a cameo appearance. (It was all I could do to resist joining Klete in pinching little Troy's chubby cheeks.) Klete entered his man cave. Upon entry, it was instantly clear that this exuberant bunch was in the mood to celebrate. These goof balls were all being groomsmen for the very first time and you could tell by how hard it was to get their boutonnieres in. They spent some time bro-ing out before it was time to get Klete married.
Chelsey and Klete's Wyoming wedding took place in Lovell, which is fifty miles northeast of Cody, at the Foster Gulch Golf Course, a relaxed setting with vast horizons and beautiful views that you'd expect to find in Wyoming. The weather was perfect for an outdoor wedding, as Wyoming weather often is in July, and the sun beamed upon smiling faces as the wedding processional began. Klete and his groomsmen chose to wear swanky attire that showcased their fun personalities. I love their non-traditional, fashion-forward ensembles.
Chelsey and Klete looked dazzling as they stood upon manicured lawns at the altar. There was so much love in their eyes as they began reciting their wedding vows. In the distance, a beautiful view of the surrounding Wyoming mountains. Their ceremony was graceful and elegant, with an easygoing Wyoming wedding vibe. I will always love photographing outdoor weddings, especially those near Cody, Wyoming.
After the ceremony, a golf cart rolled Chelsey and Klete away in marital bliss. This smooth ride is the perfect way for fun-loving couples to exit a golf course wedding.
The wedding party stood cheek to cheek with Chelsey and Klete as I focused on their smiling faces. We mixed it up with classic shots, the kiss, adoring bridesmaids, and playful shots of Klete.
After the ceremony and wedding party pictures, little Troy made another cameo appearance. His sweet face lit up when he saw his mom and dad. Family members happily entertained little Troy during the wedding and reception, so Chelsey and Klete could blissfully be in the moment of their ceremony and celebration. However, these loving parents made it clear that the day was in honor of their precious baby boy.
The wedding reception took place in the spacious backyard at Chelsey's parent's house. Located near Cody, Wyoming, their vast property allowed plenty of space and panoramic views of the beautiful Wyoming landscape. Chelsey was delighted to celebrate her wedding at her childhood home. Soon after arriving on the scene, Chelsey and Klete started things off on a sweet note with their cake-cutting ceremony. The cake was romantic red velvet with a cream cheese frosting. With the wedding ceremony behind them, it was time to kick back, relax, and enjoy a rustic, Wyoming-style wedding reception.
And then, the bride and groom came together for their first dance as husband and wife. Chelsey and Klete had everyone's attention, but it seemed to be just the two of them as they flowed effortlessly through the motions of their dance.
As the sun began to set, speeches and toasts began. Next, everyone enjoyed a picnic-style dinner catered by Klete's family. The reception was free and easy, just like Chelsey and Klete wanted. I could feel a lot of genuine love and loyalty in the air.
Love, happiness, and romance. These three words came to mind while I photographed this high-spirited couple. They were in their little world, which seemed to be on cloud nine. Their merriment filled my heart with joy as I snapped these beautiful images. The rugged, brushy landscape was a nice contrast to the happy couple dressed in wedding attire. One thing's for sure there's never a shortage of spectacular wedding backdrops in Wyoming.
Little did I know, Chelsey had a secret surprise for Klete, which she could no longer keep to herself. After posing for lovely newlywed shots, she casually steered Klete toward his new truck! Based on the hug I captured upon the unveiling of Klete's surprise, Chelsey is a woman after his own heart. I love the exuberance between this couple. Remember how it all began with a secret photoshoot proposal? I admire their ability to keep things light and have a good time.
A billion stars filled the Wyoming sky as their wedding celebration rolled on. Chelsey and Klete's wedding was their creation. Sophistication was present when necessary, having subtle undertones of traditional festivities at a laid-back Wyoming wedding. They had a charming outdoor ceremony at a tranquil venue, followed by a tastefully decorated, down-home backyard wedding reception. I felt comfortable with them in this welcoming environment.
